Great list! All deserve to be on the list! I think it would be exciting to play those games when you’re alone in complete darkness with the surround sound on full blast! lol :) That was totally scary!

Too bad you didn’t include any Resident Evil. I know RE isn’t scary anymore and today is more like a third-person shooter (with awful controls), but the first entries in the series were scary as hell. Anyone who played RE 1 or 2 would definitely agree… Am i right?

But when you are alone in the dark…that’s when the real ghosts will get you. Trust me I’ve seen one, a couple of years ago in the middle of the night in my garden. Glowing white and floating across the garden within 10 feet of my two eyes for a good 30 seconds. You can’t get more in your face than that. And that’s all the proof I will ever need that the afterlife and spirit world are very very real.

Ghosts are real, one day science is going to have to take it very seriously and try to understand and study the phenomena. When you’ve seen one it changes everything you think you know about the world

@Nick – SCARY! I’ve never experienced something like that but I do believe in ghosts. They truly exist.

  • Ghost of Hitler said:

Nick, I am the ghost that visited you on that fateful evening. I kept trying to talk to you but you kept weeping like a little bitch, so I left after 30 seconds. I wanted to inform you that you are to follow in my foot steps. Since you believe in ghosts, you must believe in fate too…THIS IS YOUR FATE! Now go, make me proud.

This is probably the best list I’ve seen for scary games.

Far too many lists leave Penumbra out or have games with jump out scares.

I would also recommend playing Aliens vs Predator 2 which was made by the guys behind FEAR. Very scary game

  • Sharpshot64 said:

This is the list of scariest games not gory. Gore isn’t really scary but gross. True fear comes from atmosphere and the anticipation of the scare.

  • Impressed said:

Wow! I love this list! I give you an A for remembering to put in Penumbra!

This game genuinely NAILS along whatever you enjoy concerning John Kirkman’s The Walking Dead; the tension, the weather, the particular establishing, the world, what sort of history moves. Merely everything, even comic book images. (The Walking Dead at first can be a comic strip collection in the event you didn’t know) Regretfully, Irrrve never obtained the opportunity go through all of the guides. The storyplot is fantastic along with their will be a lot of shocks! Should buy!
